Okay, I am duly shamed -- I should have been able to find that. You are correct, when I set the timezone on the website, it works correctly. Sorry for the user error!

I love the app and would be willing to help beta test future versions, if you're ever looking for such help. Keep up the good work!

Thanks Chris
If it;s just a website issue, then please try setting your time zone on http://www.runningfreeonline.com/About_You/Training - that won't affect existing uploads, but new uploads will be time corrected - I hope!

Just to be clear -- no music player or other conflicting application running that I can see by looking at the tasks. The build in mail application (which doesn't seem to ever go away) is almost always running, as I use Outlook push-mail. I'm not even sure how I could disable that without getting rid of the account -- kind of a heavy handed measure if that's what is needed.

For me it seems to happen every time, but I am only walking, and it is usually during daylight in my timezone, so I guess that is a pattern! :)

I can see that the 'course' is saved with the correct local time, but on the website and the autopost to facebook, they show up as GMT/Zulu. Perhaps I have to set something different on the runningfreeonline site?

I can see that the split data (which has captured times) is the relevant GMT times when I look at the raw uploaded data.

Thanks Chris. Is there any pattern to the "odd" ones? e.g. is it certain times of day? Certain types of activities? is it when you're also running a music player? Just interested to see if we can work it out...

I am running this on an AT&T HTC Tilt2, and I still get the odd posting in GMT instead of local time glitch. If there is anything I can do to help debug or otherwise investigate/test. Feel free to contact me.

Whity - absolutely stunningly good feedback - thanks :)

I can't promise when I'm going to get to work on this right now - I'm too busy for my own good right now, but I will definitely be using your list when I do. Having an external set of eyes is really useful - thanks for these comments!

ops, forget something, sorry!
what about two new ideas:

- writing down notes (free text) for evry route
- using your own pulse clock, and a new function in the app to save the given values: highest pulse, lowest pulse, avg. pulse, burned calories and stuff like that?

- showing this data (calories stuff and free text) on a details page that is accesible through the diary for every entry?

- what about saving the values of the details page (especially the lap stuff) for each route and showing it on the details page mentioned above, too?

hi stuart,

sorry for my late answer - i couldn' find my post above - i was always looking in the faq and was wondering why it never appeared there.
finally i made ;-).

thx for pointing me to the settings section - i found the entry for showing km/h instead of min/km after reading your post. but i have to say -after using the app for a few jogging routes- that the min/km seting makes more sense, because it's easier to see if i'm running constantly during the whole route. so forget about this point.

thx too, for telling me about this detail with the naming convention for the fotos. it's easy to connect the foto with the place where it was taken because of the lat- and longitude in the filename. even though a waypoint for a foto would be a great feature for the future if possible.

i'm sorry that i gave no details for the optical issues and therefor i'm trying to share my thoughts with you on every (?) screen page. it's hard for developers (i'm developing .net web and applications, too but never tried anything on the ce platform) to do something better without a good feedback and i'm hating this, too...

and please don't get me wrong - everything i'm writing down here is just about my personal (!) taste and doesn't mean that it's the best way!!!

- the start screen on the iphone looks way better than on wm 6.5

- the diary and the settings are not really ugly but nothing special - o.k. it's all about eye candy and has nothing to do with the features, i know ;-)

- when starting a new route the app presents all routes from the diary and i can overlay the new route onto an existing route or press cancel. i think that -on screens of that and similar types- it's better to place the buttons for left, right, ok, cancel in the center under the main content, in this case under the routes

- after that, you can choose a file name for the new route. oin this screen i would use the same ok button (maybe a new one ;-)) centered in the middle under the main content. the font size is big and so it's impossible to the see path and the filename. maybe there is a way to let if float over 2 or 3 lines - just as many as needed.

- the next screen shows total time, tempo and distance. again not really ugly but nothing special. furthermore it would be great, if the buttons would carry a name under them like details, start, stop.

the detail page is o.k. but the buttons on this and all following pages should be named, too. sometimes it'S hard to guess what feature could be accessed with one of the buttons.

overall it would be great to use a specific set of icons and the constant use of these icons in the whole app. would be great if the look would be a bit more modern and "fresh".

when exiting runsat i would center the buttons on the whole page, horizontally and vertically.

if you want to (you have my mailadress) we can maybe look for some icons that you can use free icons with a licence for own apps.

i would also love to give some more detailed input or even test some new things - just drop me a note!

thx again and please don'T take these optical thing to seriously!

nice greets and best wishes,
whity

Hi Mike
To install, you need to copy the whole .cab file across to the phone, then open the .cab from File Explorer - the install will happen automatically. Hope that helps
