There is a new WM6 version of RunSat available at http://www.runsaturday.com/runsat/release/runsat_1_1_7.CAB – this includes:
- some small fixes along the way
- some additional languages thanks to GeoGeo and Andrea for Greek and Italian!
If I don’t hear of any problems, then I will update AppToDate soon.

I’d still like to do a big new revision of the 6.5 app – but time is against me at present – sorry.

Android
I’ve been working hard on Android – amazingly, the WP7 release was actually a by-product of that work.
I’m now waiting for a product to be released – MonoDroid – currently this product is in “Preview”. As soon as this product hits “Beta” then I will be able to release some code

Bada
The Bada release seems to be working well.
The only problems I know of are all on Vodafone crippled devices – sorry :/
I have one fix for very long activity uploads – I’m fighting the Samsung App Store to get this released.

Para obtener la distancia que debe tener GPS bloqueo a 100 metros exactos. Esto no podría suceder si:
1. Tiene GPS con discapacidad en el teléfono – mira en Preferencias-> Conectividad-> Ubicación
2. Usted está en el interior, en una zona con muchos árboles, edificios altos, postes de radio, etc
3. Usted es mala suerte!
A veces, con los relojes GPS de Garmin, entonces usted tiene que dejar el reloj fuera por unos minutos antes de empezar.

To get distance you must get GPS lock within 100m accurate. This might not happen if:
1. You have GPS disabled on the phone – look in Settings->Connectivity->Location
2. You are indoors, in an area with lots of trees, tall building, radio masts, etc
3. You are unlucky!
Sometimes with GPS watches from Garmin, then you have to leave the watch outside for a few minutes before you start.
Sorry for my Spanish! I learnt 5 years ago – for a trip to South America – but mainly I know how to ask for beer and a hotel

I’d like some help with the Bada version…

• if anyone’s got any ideas about how to improve the UI then please send them in – some sort of mock up design preferred (it’s far too easy to say “make it look nicer” I know there are little things like making the GPS signal strength into icons instead of text?
• if anyone would like to design a nicer “loading screen”, then please do
• if anyone would like a version in their own language, then the current text to translate is below – please translate all strings… and then give me the local name of your language (e.g. give me Deutsch not German)
• if anyone would like a version without adverts then I can do this, but the app will cost money – currently the adverts belong to Samsung/Navteq/Decarta – as they are the ones who provide the maps.

Please don’t fight over these things – e.g. I can only take one splashscreen – so please don’t send me 10

I’m going to focus on the site and on Android now for a bit, but I will do more for Bada.

I am also open to informally open sourcing the code – but I need some time to get it a bit tidier and documented – and I don’t have a lot of time!

Next stop Android?

The app is now in for approval with the app store – will let you know how it proceeds.

One problem I expect is with the mapping. I’ve added mapping to the diary:

However, despite the fact that this mapping is the official Bada mapping, it seems there are still some licensing issues between Samsung and Decarta – so currently they are telling me to “wait” – and not giving me any information about how long….

Will keep you updated on the progress…

Note – the mapping has adverts attached but only as a condition of using the official Samsung/Decarta maps – no revenue from ads will come to me.

Currently this app includes:
- a simple diary
- GPS tracking
- data upload to runningfreeonline.com (was runsatuday)

This app doesn’t yet include any mapping (coming soon!)

I’m currently looking for some testers.

If anyone is interested then please:

3. If this works, then you should have a RunningFree app installed – does it work for you?
- if not, then please let me know – I’ll try to help get this working (but this is a very new phone and operating system)
- if it does, then how well does it work? All feedback, good or bad, appreciated.
